I’m delighted to have my wonderful friend Kathleen Ball join us today to share some tips on Social media. Take it away, Kathleen:

You’re going to be published now what?

There are many avenues of social medial readily available to everyone. First, you want to have a Facebook page. Take the time to get to know other authors. Build a support system. It’s called social media, so socialize. Join different author groups. Put the word author in the search on Facebook. You’ll be surprised how many pages pop up. Join them; watch what other authors are doing. Share other people’s posts. Next, take advantage of the Facebook fan page. Keep your fan page updated with you latest projects. Like other people’s pages.

A website is a must have. If possible, get your own domain name. Mine is

It’s easy to remember. Put a short bio on it. As you do more projects, you’ll have plenty to add. Always have your covers and buy links on your front page. I have my blog on my site and I use it as a marketing tool. I put announcements, book releases, and contests on my blog. My blog is connected to my Facebook account and my Facebook fan page along with my twitter and goodreads.

Open a twitter account. Tweet and retweet. Build your reach by adding people that you follow. Many people follow back. I add people to my twitter every day through

http://twiends.com   Every time you sign in it will give you 10 seeds– people follow to get seeds.

Google+ is a great marketing tool. Keep growing your circle of friends. It doesn’t take as much time as you think and it’s worth it.

That brings me to my all-time favorite—- scoop.it. Scoop.it puts a button on your browser so no matter what you are looking at you can hit scoop.it. By doing this you also post to twitter, Facebook, Facebook fan page and linked in. Then it will have a see it button. Click that and you can share with Google+, pinterest and stumbled upon.

You do need to set up each account but once it’s done with a few keystrokes, you are all over the internet. I try to do one thing each day to increase my social reach. The sites make it easy to connect to each other. Take one step at a time.
